The Big 3

This is a great starting point. You have probably heard quite a bit about Canvas and SeeSaw. Teachers in PreK-2nd grade will be using SeeSaw to deliver daily material for daily assignments. Grades 3-12 will be using Canvas for this same purpose. Remember, Seesaw and Canvas are used to organize lessons, units, projects, but students will leave these two apps to complete the assignments. The third component of the Big 3 is learning about the iPad itself and how you can tailor it to your environment.

Workflow Apps and Platforms

Once your child has accessed their assignments through Canvas or SeeSaw, they will also need to work outside of those platforms periodically in order to complete the assignments or projects. From grades PreK-12 the list of apps and programs the students use and possibly login to is quite long as you can imagine. The teacher of your child will know exactly how the students login and with what credentials. Technical Help

iPad Protection Plan

NBISD offers an iPad Protection Plan for NBISD parents. Normally, it is just offered to grades 6-12 since those grade levels are the only ones who take the devices home. However, with all grade levels having the option of remote learning, and the possibility of a class or campus abruptly going remote, we will be asking all NBISD students to take their iPads home at the end of each day.
